Therapeutic Modalities in Boise, Idaho

At Juke Chiropractic & Sports Rehab, therapeutic modalities may be incorporated into treatment to help manage pain, muscle tension, swelling, or other symptoms while supporting movement and rehabilitation.

Rather than using the same modalities for every patient, we select treatments based on your condition, examination findings, stage of recovery, and goals. These therapies are typically used alongside chiropractic care, soft tissue treatment, and exercise rehabilitation rather than as a replacement for active treatment.

Therapeutic Modalities We Offer

Depending on your condition and treatment goals, your care may include:

  • Electrical stimulation (e-stim)

  • Therapeutic ultrasound

  • Heat therapy

  • Ice and cold therapy

  • Kinesiology taping

  • Cupping

  • Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM)

  • Compression and recovery therapy

Each modality serves a different purpose and may be incorporated when it provides a useful addition to your overall treatment plan.

Electrical Stimulation

Electrical stimulation uses controlled electrical impulses applied through pads placed on the skin.

Depending on how it is used, e-stim may be incorporated into treatment to help manage discomfort or muscle tension while you recover from a musculoskeletal injury.

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound-wave energy delivered through a handheld applicator to targeted tissues.

When appropriate, it may be incorporated as a supplemental treatment for certain musculoskeletal and soft tissue complaints.

Cupping & Soft Tissue Treatment

Cupping and instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques can be used to address areas of muscle tension, soreness, or restricted movement.

These treatments are often combined with movement and exercise rather than used as stand-alone solutions.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape may be applied to provide temporary support or sensory feedback during movement and activity.

Taping can be useful in certain situations while a patient continues progressing through rehabilitation or returns to activity.

Compression & Recovery

Compression therapy can be used as part of recovery for tired or sore legs following exercise, training, competition, or other demanding activity.

At our clinic, compression may be used to complement an overall recovery or performance plan for athletes and active adults.

Supporting Your Overall Treatment Plan

Therapeutic modalities are tools—not the entire treatment plan.

Our primary goal is to identify what's contributing to your symptoms and determine what combination of hands-on care, movement, rehabilitation, and supportive treatments makes sense for you.

As you improve, treatment can progress toward greater independence, strength, and confidence in movement rather than relying solely on passive therapies.

Find the Right Treatment for Your Needs

Not every patient needs the same treatment or combination of therapies. We'll evaluate your condition and determine which treatments may be useful based on your symptoms, activity level, and goals.

Our focus is on using the right tools at the right time to help you move toward recovery and get back to doing what you enjoy.
